Jeff Bezos being one of the richest people known has announced that he will do donate his funds for charity. In an interview with CNN, the founder of Amazon stated that he intends to donate the majority of his net worth—currently $124 billion—to charity during his lifetime. The majority of it will be used to support those who can bring about "unity" for humanity or fight climate change.

Bezos, like other CEOs, wants to stand out with his donations. Bezos like Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates may want to make his name known by making big donations. Bezos announced a $100 million donation to Dolly Parton, a singer and advocate for literacy, prior to the revelation. The executive had previously committed $10 billion to the Bezos Earth Fund, which aims to promote technological and political solutions to climate change caused by humans. In the past few months, MacKenzie Scott, Bezos's ex-wife, has given approximately $4 billion to organizations.

Especially considering the problems that amazon has had with its employees recently, it would be quite logical for the company to want to announce its name with better things. Amazon's emissions increased in 2021 despite its repeated opposition to climate legislation.
