Additionally, the employees are said to have accessed the data of several journalists' connections. ByteDance, according to Forbes, followed three of its reporters who had previously worked for BuzzFeed News. Reports on TikTok, including its alleged connections to the Chinese government, have been published by all three of these publications. ByteDance has been contacted by Engadget for comment.
