As you all know by now, Elon Musk took over Twitter and many things started to change. Twitter Blue subscriptions became a paid one. This decision resulted in many arguments and problems on the platform but the rule remains the same. Now Twitter Blue is open worldwide.

You can get blue checkmark for $8 per month (or $11 if you sign up through the iOS app), 4,000-character tweets, higher ranking in replies, post editing, and other benefits.

In contrast, organizations can strive for a more useful tick next to their names. Applications for the gray checkmarks that verify government officials, organizations, and their counterparts at multilateral institutions have begun to be accepted on Twitter. Applicants are required to describe their positions and responsibilities and use either a valid government ID or an email address. Gold checkmarks can already be requested by businesses.
