Apple is currently using wireless chips from Broadcom and cellular chips from Qualcomm.  According to a tipster who is familiar with the situation, Apple is considering combining the cellular chip with the wireless chip for the launch of its first in-house wireless chip with iPhones in 2025. In the end, this would reduce space requirements, increase power draw, and save money on production costs. This move comes as strategic with the inflination and chip problems going on in the world ever since corona virus happened. The company has rolled up its sleeves to solve the problems regarding this situation.

Taking the majority of the manufacturing in-house is just one of Apple's numerous efforts to reduce its reliance on third-party suppliers. The most recent example is Apple's M series silicon, which clearly works well for the company.
