Lenovo's new tablet could rival Samsung and Apple. At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023, Lenovo took center stage with a series of cutting-edge devices, one of which was the Tab Extreme, their flagship Android tablet. After launching it as the Legion Y900 in China in March, Lenovo has now opened up the market for this gadget, beginning with its release in the UK and the US.

Originally set to retail at €1,299 in Europe, Lenovo is introducing the Tab Extreme to the UK market at a price of £999 and offering it in the US for $949.99. While the price does not include a keyboard accessory, each tablet does come equipped with a Folio Case and a Lenovo Pen 3.

The Tab Extreme shines with its impressive specs. It features a stunning 14.5-inch OLED screen with an ultra-high resolution of 3000 x 1876 pixels. The display employs a 16:10 aspect ratio and supports 1920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, along with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Driving this tablet is a top-tier MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chip, complemented by 12GB of LPDDR5X memory and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. A robust 12300mAh battery powers the tablet. It also includes two USB-C ports - one is a fully-featured USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 with DP output, and the other is USB-C 2.0 supporting DP input.

The Tab Extreme tips the scales at 740 grams and boasts a slender 5.85 mm thickness. The device is packed with eight JBL speakers and supports Dolby Atmos. It also features four microphones. In terms of camera, a 13MP front lens is accompanied by a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 13MP and a 5MP sensor.

Out-of-the-box, the tablet runs on Android 13, with Lenovo committing to three OS upgrades, enabling updates through Android 16. The company has also pledged up to four years of security updates. Lenovo's new tablet could rival Samsung and Apple.
