Apple has created a buzz by introducing a USB-C Pencil, but the latest development in the Apple ecosystem suggests that new iPads might be around the corner. Traditionally, Apple unveils new-generation iPads about a month after the launch of its iPhones. Recent reports indicate that the arrival of new iPads is expected by the end of this year. A new report, sourced from DigiTimes and citing industry insiders, provides insights into the next-generation iPad Air.

Currently, Apple offers the iPad Air in a single 10.9-inch size. However, the report suggests that Apple is working on a larger version of the iPad Air, equipped with a substantial 12.9-inch display. This would make it the largest iPad Air model to date, bringing it in line with the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Notably, it will continue to feature an LCD panel, diverging from the mini-LED technology seen in the iPad Pro.

An earlier report from 9to5Mac had hinted at two versions of the iPad Air (6th Gen) in development, with four separate models, including both Wi-Fi and cellular variants. While the details regarding the differences between these versions weren't clear, the latest report aligns with the notion of two screen sizes for the upcoming iPad Air.

The current fifth-generation iPad Air, released last year, boasts a 10.9-inch screen and is powered by the M1 processor. The anticipation is that Apple may launch the iPad Air 6th generation in the first quarter of the next year, featuring an M2 chipset. Expect more insights and information about the next-generation iPad in the months ahead as the launch date draws near.
