Tech enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the introduction of the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite, which is slated to be the company's premier chipset designed explicitly for PCs. Recent revelations by Windows Report have unveiled comprehensive details regarding the specifications of this anticipated chipset. One of the most remarkable features of this new chipset is the inclusion of the custom Oryon cores. These cores aim to deliver a performance that's twice as efficient in terms of both CPU and GPU when compared to the existing x86 processors.

The Snapdragon X Elite places a strong emphasis on generative AI. Integrated within is the Hexagon NPU, capable of executing an impressive 45 trillion operations every second (TOPS). This signifies a performance boost of 55% over its forerunner, the Snapdragon 8cx Gen3 SoC. The incorporation of the Snapdragon Oryon CPU not only enhances power efficiency but also augments the chipset's prowess and productivity, especially concerning its generative AI models.

Industry insiders anticipate Qualcomm to unveil this chipset during the Snapdragon Summit 2023. Crafted using a 4nm architectural process, the processor encompasses 12 high-performance cores with a clock speed of 3.8GHz and a dual-core boost capability that peaks at 4.3GHz. Complementing this is the Qualcomm Adreno GPU, which supports 4.6 TFLOPs and is compatible with the DX12 API. Furthermore, its LPDDR5x RAM provides a substantial 42MB total cache, combined with a memory bandwidth of 136 GB/s. This makes it capable of supporting a memory capacity of up to 64 GB. Given these features, the chipset stands out, potentially delivering a performance that's 50% superior to its competitors.

On the connectivity front, the chipset offers notable advancements. It facilitates support for WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, an evident progression from its predecessor's capabilities, which were limited to WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. Another intriguing update pertains to its Video Processing Unit, which is now adept at AV11 encoding and decoding.
