OnePlus is gearing up for a significant event on December 4th in China, where the company plans to announce the OnePlus 12, coinciding with its 10th-anniversary celebration. Although not yet officially confirmed, there is speculation that OnePlus might also introduce the OnePlus Ace 3 alongside the OP12 on this notable date.
Founded on October 14, 2012, OnePlus has established itself as a major player in the smartphone market. The brand, which merged with Oppo on June 16, 2021, continues to operate as an independent entity under Oppo's umbrella. This upcoming event is particularly significant as it marks a decade of OnePlus's journey in the industry.
The OnePlus 12 is expected to be a showcase of cutting-edge technology. Rumored to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, it will join the ranks of other high-end smartphones like the Xiaomi 14 series and the iQOO 12 lineup. OnePlus has already teased that the OP12 will feature a LYT-T808 main camera sensor along with HyperTone camera optimizations. Additional reports suggest that the primary camera will be complemented by a 48-megapixel IMX581 ultra-wide lens and a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto camera, offering 3x optical zoom. The device is also expected to house a 32-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.
The official launch date for the OnePlus 12 has been announced
The OnePlus 12's display is rumored to be a 6.82-inch BOE X1 OLED panel, providing a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Running on ColorOS 14-based Android 14, the highest configuration variant of the OP12 might offer 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and a whopping 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Powering the device is expected to be a 5,400mAh battery, supporting both 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
In addition to the OnePlus 12, the OnePlus Ace 3 is also expected to make an appearance at the event. This device, reportedly powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, might be rebranded as the OnePlus 12R in the global market. With the OnePlus 12 slated for a global release in January, the official confirmation of these launches is eagerly awaited in the coming days.
