In August, the Redmi Pad SE was introduced in Europe, offering a more budget-friendly alternative to last year's Redmi Pad. Interestingly, it was initially anticipated to be named the Redmi Pad 2. Fast forward to a month later, and the device has now officially made its debut in China, taking the stage at the Redmi Note 13 series launch event. Let's delve into the tablet's features and pricing within its home market.

The Redmi Pad SE boasts a sleek metal unibody construction, measuring just 7.36mm in thickness and weighing 478g. Its centerpiece is an 11-inch display, offering an 84.4% screen-to-body ratio. This LCD panel delivers a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, 207 PPI, and a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. Notably, it supports a peak brightness of 400 nits, an impressive 180Hz touch sampling rate, and stylus input.

Under the hood, the tablet is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chip, coupled with LPDDR4x RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage. It runs on MIUI 14 for Pad, based on the latest Android 13.

In terms of photography, the Redmi Pad SE features an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. Furthermore, it not only boasts quad speakers with Dolby Atmos support but also includes a 3.5mm headphone jack and a MicroSD card slot for expandable storage.

Connectivity options encompass dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0. Keeping it running is an 8,000mAh battery, capable of 10W charging through a USB Type-C port.

As expected, the Redmi Pad SE offers a significantly more affordable price tag in its native China. It starts at just ¥999 (~$135) for the base variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, compared to the €229 price point in Europe for the same configuration.

Here's the pricing breakdown for all memory configurations:

6GB + 128GB – ¥999 (~$135)
8GB + 128GB – ¥1,099 (~$150)
8GB + 256GB – ¥1,299 (~$180)

It's available in three color options: gray, purple, and green, and is already available for purchase in China.
